Kindergarten children participated in this festival with great enthusiasm. Little children came in colourful costumes and presented a colourful programme. Children participated in many activities like bhangra, giddha and modelling. Swings were also arranged on this festival in which the children enjoyed a lot. Various types of sweets were distributed. Chairman of the school Professor CL Kochher , Managing Director Kumar Shiv Kochher, Vice Principal Ravinder Kaur and a large number of kindergarten staff were present. Chairman told the children about the importance of Teej.
International Youth Day
Guru Amar Dass Public School, Model Town, celebrated ‘International Youth Day’. A special assembly was conducted to celebrate the same. The assembly began by taking the blessings of the Almighty. Students recited motivational poems, gave speeches and presented a group song. A poster making competition was held for the students of grade 6-12. in the first category,Kuljit Kaur of grade 8 stood first, Gunvansh from grade 10 stood second and Dolci stood third. In the second category Nirjara and Kamran from grade 11 stood first, Manseerat and Simranjeet stood second and Amanpreet from grade 12 stood third.
CBSE WORKSHOP
A two-day Competency-Based Assessment Workshop by CBSE was organised at MGN Public School, Adarsh Nagar. The workshop was conducted by educationists — Meenu Dhingra, from Apeejay School, and Sunil Kumar, from Gobindgarh Public School. Principal KS Randhawa emphasised the need of attending CBSE workshops to make the educators acquaint with the changing trends in the field of education to make the teaching learning process a success. Headmistress Sangeeta Bhatia, Incharge Pre Primary Sukham, Coordinator CBSE Inderpreet Kaur and Coordinator Secondary Section Satwinder gave commendable inputs.
Expert lecture
As part of the ongoing Induction Programme ‘Aarambh 2024’, Apeejay Institute of Management and Engineering organised an enlightening expert lecture, featuring Manoj Kumar, a distinguished data analysis expert. Kumar delivered an engaging talk on ‘Data Analysis using Tableau Desktop, Power BI, and Google Looker’, offering invaluable insights to students and faculty alike. Manoj Kumar, with his extensive experience in the field of data analytics, shared practical knowledge and demonstrated the capabilities of leading data analysis tools such as Tableau Desktop, Power BI, and Google Looker.
Career counselling session
Kanya Maha Vidyalaya hosted an insightful career counselling session featuring Manpreet Singh Saggu, HR & Training Manager at Best Western. This session, which focused on industry expectations and the value of skills-based education in the hospitality, tourism, and aviation sectors, was a key component of KMV’s ongoing initiative to enhance industry-academia synergy. Saggu, with his extensive experience in top hospitality institutions shared invaluable insights into the dynamic landscape of the industry.
Hariyali Teej Celebrated
State Public School, Jalandhar Cantt, was all dipped in celebration of Teej. The kindergarten was the reason for putting the celebration on the top of the school’s enthusiastic activities. The blossom buddies had adorned themselves with vibrant attire and traditional jewellery. They performed all the rituals which are done during the celebration. The best moment for them was to have swift swings along with delicious meals.
University result
A student of DAV College secure second position in the Guru Nanak Dev University merit list. Bhawana Pahuja, student of MA Economics Semester IV scored 1540 marks out of 2000 (77%) and got the second position in the university merit list. Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Head PG Department of Economics Dr Suresh Kumar Khurana, and other faculty members of Economics department congratulated the students for their achievements.
National Book Lovers Day
National Book Lovers day was celebrated at Lyallpur Khalsa College for Women. Kanchan, Librarian, addressed the students on the occassion and spoke passionately about the importance of books in our lives. She emphasised how books serve as guides, shaping our thoughts, expanding our horizons, and enriching our knowledge. She also explained how reading fosters critical thinking, creativity, and empathy.
MOCK FIRE DRILL ORGANISED
A training session on disaster management and a mock fire drill were organised by the Disaster Management Club under the guidance of Principal Dr Rashmi Vij at Police DAV Public School PAP Campus Jalandhar Cantt. On this occasion, resource person Rajendra Sharma, retired fire officer, Jalandhar, in his awareness lecture, gave information to the teachers about the causes of fire and how to avoid the same.
