Car falls off flyover in Goraya after tyre bursts

The incident left a BSF jawan injured, while his wife, who was travelling with him, escaped unhurt.
According to ASI Sarabjit Singh of the Road Safety Force, the vehicle was being driven by Bajrang Sahay, a BSF personnel, posted with the Gurdaspur battalion. The couple was travelling from Gurdaspur to Delhi when the accident occurred. As the car was running on the Goraya bridge, one of its tyres suddenly burst and its driver lost control over the vehicle. The car broke through the iron railing installed along the highway and plunged off the bridge. The car suffered an extensive damage.
Soon after the accident, an exemplary act of humanity unfolded. The principal of Bhai Mati Das School of Nursing, Goraya, who was travelling behind the car, immediately stopped upon witnessing the mishap. With the help of his driver, he provided first aid to the injured jawan and took him in his own vehicle to a nearby private hospital in Goraya. The prompt action ensured that the BSF jawan received timely medical attention.
The local police from Goraya reached the spot shortly after being informed and initiated further investigation proceedings. The authorities are examining the cause of the tyre burst and assessing the extent of damage to the car.
