A car carrying Kulwinder Singh, his sister and nephew went out of control near village Mohanwal, Garhshankar and plunged into the Bist Doab canal. Thanks to the timely intervention of nearby residents, all three occupants were rescued from drowning.

Kulwinder Singh, son of Gurnam Singh from village Laharan, was traveling to his in-laws’ house in his Alto car (PB-08-E-6949) along the road beside the canal. When nearing Mohanwal, the vehicle lost control and fell into the canal.

Among those rescued was Kamlesh, who sustained a serious head injury. She was admitted to Civil Hospital, Garhshankar, where she received initial treatment before being referred to Hoshiarpur hospital due to the severity of her condition. The quick action of locals prevented a potential tragedy, highlighting the importance of community vigilance in emergencies.
