On the Martyrdom Day of Chandrashekhar Azad, an ‘Azad March’ was taken out by various organisations here on Thursday. Shri Bhagwan Parshuram Sena, under the chairmanship of president Ashutosh Sharma, led the march.

The march began from Shri Shakti Mandir in Nai Abadi and concluded at Bhagwan Shri Parshuram Chowk, after passing through Committee Bazar, Gauran Gate, Clock Tower and Sessions Chowk.

Before beginning the march, homage was paid to Chandrashekhar Azad. Pandit Shyam Sundar Shastri ushered youngsters a pledge to stay away from drugs and to make society corruption-free.

Participants raised slogans of ‘Bharat mata ki jai’ and ‘Vande mataram’ and held placards with messages urging youths to shun drugs and reject communalism. Ashutosh Sharma, while addressing the march, said one must never forget the sacrifices made by martyrs and must follow the path shown by them. “We should not wait for someone to serve the nation, but take the initiative on our own. Only youngsters can stop the anti-national forces and prevent communal riots,” he said.
