The district police led by SSP Vatsalya Gupta and SP Rupinder Kaur Bhatti have advised medical stores not to give any medicine without the valid prescription of a qualified doctor.

In a meeting with the representatives of medical stores held here on Tuesday evening, SP Rupinder Kaur Bhatti, in the presence of Drug Inspector Ravi Kumar and DSP Jaspreet Singh, warned the chemists that violators of law would be dealt with a firm hand.

SP Bhatti called a meeting of the representatives of different social organisations and appealed to them to co-operate with the police to maintain law and order and curb drug menace which threatens to destroy the future of the young generation. SHO (Traffic) Aman Kumar and SHO City Gaurav Dhir were also present on the occasion.
