City doctors run to promote fitness

Young doctors participated in the marathon, while senior doctors joined the walkathon to promote fitness and a stress-free lifestyle.
IMA president Dr MS Bhutani and secretary Dr Pooja Kapoor said, in today’s busy and hectic life, running, walking, and brisk walking — like yoga — were essential activities to eliminate stress and fatigue, and keep the body energetic and healthy.
The marathon started from the IMA House in Gujral Nagar, passing through Football Chowk, Dr Ambedkar Chowk, Guru Nanak Mission Chowk, and Mahavir Marg to conclude back at Gujral Nagar.
Dr Sahil Sareen completed the marathon in 18 minutes and 46 seconds, securing first place in the overall category.
Dr GS Jammu completed it in 19 minutes, securing the second place, while Dr Pooja Kapoor claimed the third position, completing the marathon in 20 minutes.
In the 50-plus age category, Dr GS Jammu secured the first place, while Dr Sunil Sharma stood second, and Dr Z Joshi third. In the women’s category, Dr Pooja Kapoor secured the first place, Dr Meghna Bansal second, and Dr Anshiya Agrawal third. The event was supported by Jammu Hospital. Dr MS Bhutani clinched the gold in the 70-plus age category.
In the 60-plus category, Dr Shamsher Singh, Dr Jagdeep Kaur, and Dr SPS Grover won medals, while, in the 75-plus category, Dr Nimi Raj and Dr Sukhdev Raj emerged medal-holders.
