The 63rd Annual Awareness Day of the Civil Defense Organisation was celebrated with enthusiasm at Jalandhar City Railway Station. The programme started with the hoisting of the national flag and the national anthem.

During the programme, a mock drill, fire safety demonstration, first-aid training and relief and rescue work were performed by civil defence volunteers. The public was made aware about the measures to stay safe during disaster, quick emergency response process and the need for community participation.

Senior Divisional Mechanical Engineer Rahul Chaudharyappreciated the volunteers for their excellent work and said civil defence is an important pillar of the country’s security system and the young generation should join it and come forward in social service.

During the programme, the passengers coming to the station also got information about civil defence activities and showed active participation in the awareness campaign.

Assistant Divisional Security Officer Bali Ram, Safety Team Ferozepur, RPF and GRP Jalandhar jawans, civil defence team Ferozepur and ex-servicemen and other personnel were present on this occasion.
