Jalandhar: The students of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya celebrated the festival of Lohri with enthusiasm. The celebrations commenced with the address of Principal Prof Dr Atima Sharma Dwivedi. The students sang folk songs on the occasion.

Lohri was celebrated with zeal and enthusiasm at State Public School, Shahkot. Principal Dr Kanwar Neel Kamal lit the bonfire symbolising warmth and auspiciousness. The entire atmosphere of the school was absorbed in the festive spirit.

Lyallpur Khalsa College

Lyallpur Khalsa College, Technical Campus, celebrated Lohri with a lot of exuberance. The programme kicked off with Lohri poojan. All teachers and students took part in the celebration enthusiastically.

Innocent Hearts Group

The festival of Lohri and Makar Sankranti were celebrated with great enthusiasm at Innocent Hearts Group. A special assembly was organised on the occasion, where students were enlightened about the significance of these festivals. Students presented folk songs on Lohri and shared their thoughts on Makar Sankranti.

Sanskriti KMV School

The campus of Sanskriti KMV School was immersed with festive cheer on Lohri. The event saw a remarkable amalgamation of tradition and enthusiasm, symbolising the spirit of togetherness. The highlight of the celebration was the ceremonial lighting of bonfire, which was accompanied by rhythmic beats of dhol and energetic bhangra performances by the students.

CT Group of Institutes

Lohri was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm across all CT Group campuses, including Shahpur and Maqsudan campuses, CT World School, CT Sunshine Kindergarten and CT Public School. The celebrations reflected the true essence of Punjab’s rich cultural heritage and brought students, faculty and staff together to embrace the joyous spirit of the festival. The festivities began with the traditional Lohri rituals, including the lighting of bonfire.

Guru Amar Dass Public School

Lohri and Maghi festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the junior and senior wings of Guru Amar Dass Public School, Model Town. Teachers and students sang ‘Magh Majhn Sangh Sadhua’. On this occasion, the students were also told a brief history of Lohri and Maghi. Apart from this, the students also presented songs, poetry and folk-dance representing the joy of Lohri.

The Gurukul

The festival of Lohri and Makar Sankranti was celebrated with great zeal at The Gurukul School. A cultural programme was organised in which the students participated enthusiastically. The programme started with the lighting of bonfire by the school director, principal and teachers. The students made everyone aware of the importance of this day by reciting poems, singing and dancing on folk songs.

New St Soldier Public School

Lohri was celebrated at New St Soldier Senior Secondary Public School, Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar. The students presented a colorful programme and expressed their feelings of happiness through their songs. School director Sushma Handa urged the students to adopt the spirit of brotherhood and sweetness hidden behind this festival.

Kamla Nehru Primary School

Kamla Nehru Primary School, Guru Hargobind Nagar, Phagwara, organised a special assembly on the occasion of Lohri festival. It was celebrated with great pomp and joy. Students told the importance of Lohri festival and presented songs and dance.

St Soldier Group of Institutes

‘Lohri Dhiyan Di’ was celebrated with great pomp in the various branches of St Soldier Group of Institutes, in which the directors, principals and group staff members of all schools and colleges welcomed chairman of Anil Chopra and vice chairperson Sangeeta Chopra. The campuses were decorated by the students and staff members. The students sang folk songs on Lohri and performed bhangra and giddha.
