Computer teachers have announced to start a “gupt action” (secret action) at Chandigarh from April 20 onwards to protest against the state government’s continued delay in addresssing their demands. Teachers said like the previous governments, the present dispensation had also failed to pay heed to their demands. Teachers also rued government’s apathy towards teachers who lost lives during to Covid duties.

Baljinder Singh Fatehpur, state president, Computer Teachers Union, and member Gurwinder Singh Tarn Taran said the exploitation of government school teachers has been going on for the past 17 years. They said from 2005. subsequent government exploited computer teachers but failed to give them any reward. Not just IR, ACP and pay commission were stopped, the government also failed to facilitate teachers who died due to Covid duties.

Teachers added that they had many hopes from the AAP government, but the CM failed to provide a solution for the demands.
