Campus notes: Conclave dwells on HR strategies
Jalandhar: The CT Group organised an HR Conclave bringing together prominent corporate figures to discuss innovative HR strategies and the future of workforce management. The HR Conclave was attended by Ashwani Victor, Director, Victor Forgings, and Simerjeet Singh, motivational speaker and corporate trainer. Their thought-provoking discussions set the tone for the event, offering attendees unique perspectives on leadership, motivation and workforce development. The event witnessed participation of special guests, including Aruna Vij, MD, Vijplastic, and Arvind Singh Rana, from Ranson Sports. Their contributions added depth to the conversations and emphasised on the importance of collaboration across different sectors. Besides, over 35 senior HR officials from leading companies such as Vardman, SAEL, Vopro, Ramada, Digimantra and GNA Enterprise, representing cities like Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, and Delhi, participated in the conclave. Physics workshop at KMV
Jalandhar: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (KMV) hosted Indian experimental physicist, author and Padma Shri awardee Prof Harish Chandra Verma during an inspiring and interactive experimental physics workshop. Prof Verma, an emeritus professor, Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, is regarded for his significant contributions to physics education and his approachable teaching methods. The workshop saw the enthusiastic participation of more than 500 students, including those from KMV and nearby schools, eager to learn about the wonders of physics. Prof Verma showcased a variety of live demonstrations, effectively illustrating complex concepts in physics and making them easily understandable for students. Prof Verma also emphasised upon the importance of observation, critical thinking and inquiry-based learning in developing a deeper understanding of physics. His ability to simplify intricate theories into relatable experiments made the subject highly engaging for students, many of whom expressed their newfound excitement about the subject. During the workshop, students were able to ask questions, actively participate in experiments, and witness scientific principles come to life in real-time.
Farewell ceremony for Class 12
Jalandhar: Innocent Hearts School, Green Model Town, bid a fond farewell to its outgoing Grade 12 students with a grand ceremony, “Hasta la Vista”, filled with emotions, memories and celebrations. The event witnessed the gracious presence of management members Shally Bowry, Executive Director Schools, Aradhana Bowry, Executive Director Colleges, and Dr Palak Gupta Bowry, Director, CSR, Gurvinder Kaur, Deputy Director, Schools, Academics and Examination, Sharmila Nakra, Deputy Director, Cultural Affairs, Rahul Jain, Deputy Director Schools and Colleges, and Principal Rajeev Paliwal. The ceremony began with a warm welcome, followed by a vibrant cultural programme dedicated to bidding goodbye to the outgoing batch. The highlight of the event was the modelling segment, wherein Grade 12 students captivated the audience with their elegance and charm. Dr Palak Gupta Bowry and Mansi Khosla judged the event. Mr Innocent title went to Abhinav, best hairstyle to Aagam Jain, best appearance Arshit and handsome hunk to Ranvir. Among girls, Ms Innocent title was bagged by Gurmannat, best hairstyle by Gulveen, best appearance by Diya Khanna and pleasing personality by Venika Jain.
60 educators attend CBSE workshop
Jalandhar: Ivy World School, under the aegis of the Vasal Education, conducted CBSE workshop on art integration, a capacity building programme. The CBSE workshop, attended by 60 educators, provided insight and upgradation exercise to enable them to integrate subjects in alignment with the requirements of the NEP 2020 and unleash the power of art in education for a joyful learning experience. Guiding the workshop were Dr Nafees Bhambi and Anita Gareja, luminary in the world of education. The workshop revolved around the concept of art integration, a powerful pedagogical approach that seamlessly blends arts with conventional subjects. The opening session of the workshop was an introduction to the foundational elements of artline, shape, colour, value, space, texture and form. Led by experts in the field, the session delved into the significance of these elements in art creation and expression. Educators were exposed to ways in which these elements could be utilised to enhance students’ understanding of various subjects, transcending traditional teaching boundaries. Patiently addressing queries of educators, resource persons Dr Nafees Bhambi and Anita Gareja, through their intellect, guidance and clarity, ensured that every doubt was resolved.
Extension lecture at HMV
Jalandhar: An extension lecture was delivered at Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya (HMV) under the guidance of Principal Dr Ajay Sareen. The resource person was writer Balwant. Principal Dr Sareen and Punjabi Department head Dr Navroop welcomed Balwant with a planter. Balwant congratulated Dr Navroop for her new book “Bhar Vehnda Dariya” which is based on his selected poetry. He said, “A poet can express his/her emotions beautifully through poetry.” He also introduced the book to MA (Punjabi) students. He told students about various forms of poetry. Dr Navroop gave brief introduction of the book. On the occasion, Biba Balwant recited his selected poems. Faculty members Kuljit Kaur, Dr Mandeep Kaur and Dr Sandeep Kaur were also present on the occasion.
BBKDAV principal honoured
Amritsar: Pushpinder Walia, principal of BBK DAV College for Women, was honoured by Amarjit Singh, senior field officer, Indian Red Cross Society (Punjab State Branch-Chandigarh) for her exemplary and exceptional community service during the national inter-state junior red cross training-cum-study camp under National Youth Exchange Programme. Principal Pushpinder Walia thanked Shivdular Singh Dhillon, secretary-cum-chief executive, Punjab State Red Cross, and Amarjit Singh, senior field officer, for acknowledging her efforts and dedicated this achievement to the entire BBK family.
