Congress spokesperson and Nakodar constituency in-charge Dr Navjot Singh Dahiya has expressed serious concerns over the ongoing wheat procurement process, criticising both the Central and Punjab governments for their failure to manage the influx of paddy into the state's agricultural markets. He highlighted that the grain markets are overflowing with inadequate storage facilities, leaving farmers stranded and frustrated.

Dr Dahiya pointed out that the markets are at full capacity, forcing farmers to endure significant hardships as they struggle to store their harvested paddy. He attributed this situation to severe mismanagement in the government's procurement process, which has failed to remove paddy from the markets in a timely manner, further aggravating farmers' distress.

Dr Dahiya accused the government of using strong-arm tactics during the recent panchayat elections.
