Even after a lapse of four days, the police are still clueless about the two bike-borne miscreants who had stolen Rs 5 lakh in broad daylight by breaking open the windowpane of a car, which was parked near an ice-cream shop in Gopalnagar in Dana Mandi.

The incident took place on June 15, when there was tight-security across the city owing to the visit of Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal for a state-level function at the bus stand here.

The police said the teams were conducting raids at different places and investigations were in progress to identify the suspects. They said the snapshots of the suspects taken from the CCTV footage have been released in the media recently and they have urged the people to provide information about them if they come across.

Anmol, a resident of Lamma Pind, who works in a private factory here, was going to deposit the cash in a bank when he stopped the car near an ice-cream shop to fetch a bottle of water for himself and taking benefit of the opportunity, the miscreants stole a bag containing the cash from his car.
