Deputy Commissioner of Kapurthala, Amit Kumar Panchal, on Thursday conducted an inspection of the de-addiction centre at the District Civil Hospital. During his visit, he reviewed the functioning of the facility and issued strict directions to ensure that there is no compromise in the treatment and care being provided to patients.

Reiterating the government’s commitment to fighting drug abuse, Mr Panchal stated that the district administration is actively working to strengthen both infrastructure and services at the de-addiction centre. He announced that 25 additional beds will soon be added to the facility to accommodate the increasing number of patients seeking treatment.

The Deputy Commissioner directed all concerned departments to expedite the process and ensure that the expansion work is completed at the earliest.

Also present on the occasion were Additional Deputy Commissioner Navneet Kaur Bal, ACS Dr Annu Sharma, SMO Dr Indu Bala, Dr Aman Sood, Superintendent Ram Avtar and officials from various departments.
