The delay in arrival of the Delhi-Adampur flight continued to cause inconvenience to fliers and their family members who came to receive them.

After being continuously troubled by the bad weather conditions this winter season, the dense fog in the morning is again constraining the passengers from boarding the flight on time.

The flight on Monday arrived at the Adampur airport with a delay of 30 minutes and subsequently also departed with a delay of 40 minutes. On Sunday as well the flight arrived late with a delay of 50 minutes.

The low visibility in Delhi is reportedly affected flight operation. The only 90-seater SpiceJet flight from Delhi to Adampur, which takes off from Delhi at 10.05 am and reaches here at 11.20 am, is nowadays reaching here around 12.30 pm. Officials at the enquiry counter also maintained that the flight was delayed due to low visibility and smoggy conditions on the Delhi-Punjab route.

Karan Singh, a businessman, chose to travel by road after waiting for hours at the airport.

The second largest military airbase of India, Adampur, is the only airport that provides direct air connectivity to Delhi, to a large number of non-resident Indians (NRIs) from Doaba.

Similarly, the bad weather conditions are also affecting the time table of several trains including Amritsar-Delhi Shatabdi, Pashchim Express, Shan-E-Punjab, Jammu Tavi- Sachkhand Express and others. These are reportedly running late at delay of 30 minutes to 4 hours.
