District Football Association (DFA), Jalandhar, emerged victorious in the Punjab State Senior Women’s Football Championship 2025-26 defeating Kapurthala 4-3 on penalties.The final was played at Lovely Professional University (LPU), Phagwara. The match ended in a dramatic penalty shootout where Jalandhar’s winning goals were netted by Jhanvi, Mandeep, Aarti and Payal. The team displayed remarkable composure under pressure to secure the title.

Inderjeet Singh, president of DFA Jalandhar, expressed his pride in the team’s performance, stating, “The girls have shown exceptional talent and determination throughout the tournament. Their hard work has paid off.”

DFA, Jalandhar, had an impressive journey to the championship. In the opening match, they defeated Ferozepur 5-0. The second match saw another penalty shootout, where they defeated Ropar 4-3.

The team was coached and managed by Lakhveer Singh and Vijay Kumar, whose guidance played a key role in the team’s success.

With this win, DFA, Jalandhar, has once again proven its strength and depth in women’s football, setting a benchmark for excellence in the state.
