A special drug de-addiction awareness campaign will be launched across the district from December 6 to January 6 District Legal Services Authority, Hoshiarpur. Neeraj Goyal, Secretary-cum-CJM, District Legal Services Authority, Hoshiarpur, said that, as per the directives of the Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar (Mohali), and under the guidance of District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Rajinder Aggarwal, this campaign will be conducted.

He was addressing a meeting of officials from various government departments, college principals, paralegal volunteers, and representatives of social organisations at his office today. He stated that drug addiction has become a serious threat to society and collective efforts are required to eradicate it. He stated that the campaign will actively involve paralegal volunteers, panel advocates, the Legal Aid Defense Council, doctors, teachers, NGOs, NSS and NCC cadets, and village panchayat sarpanches.

Neeraj Goyal stated that extensive awareness programs will be organized in rural and urban areas, including seminars, quiz competitions, walkathons, awareness rallies, street plays, poster-making and painting competitions, essay writing, and slogan-writing competitions. School and college students, professionals, and the general public will be provided with detailed information about the ill effects of drug abuse, legal provisions, and rehabilitation options. Appealing for full cooperation from all departments and institutions, Goyal stated that the dream of a "drug-free Punjab" will only be realised when every segment of society comes forward.
