Doctors-XI defeated Sonalika-XI and SSP-XI defeated DC-XI in the Premium Cricket League dedicated to Shaheed Bhagat Singh, being organised by Hoshiarpur District Cricket Association (HDCA) in collaboration with PCA to make the youth aware about drug abuse.

Punjab Cabinet Minister Dr Ravjot Singh, who arrived as the chief guest, introduced himself to the players. Dr Ravjot Singh said the Punjab government is committed to eradicating drug abuse and appealed to everyone to cooperate in the war started against drug abuse. He praised the awareness campaign against drugs being organised by HDCA and said such events will help in making Punjab drug-free. The minister was also honoured on the occasion by HDCA president Dr Daljit Khelan.

Meanwhile, HDCA secretary Dr Raman Ghai said that the final match of this league will be played between SSP-XI and Doctors-XI tomorrow (Monday, March 31) at noon in the DAV school ground. In this final match, the chief guest, District Magistrate Ashika Jain, will honour the players of five teams participating in the cricket league. Along with this, the players of Hoshiarpur playing at the national level will also be honoured.
