Dr Sandhu is IKGPTU Registrar

Dr Navdeepak Sandhu took charge as the 18th Registrar of IK Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU) on Friday.

As per instructions by the Chairperson of the university’s Board of Governors (BOG), Vice-Chancellor of the university Prof Susheel Mittal, has given the responsibility to Dr Sandhu. The post was vacant after Dr SK Mishra, who was the 17th Registrar of the university, was appointed as the Vice-Chancellor at Sardar Beant Singh State Technical University, Gurdaspur.

VC Mittal attended the joining ceremony. On this occasion, Baghapurana AAP MLA Amritpal Singh Sukhanand, who is an alumnus of the IKGPTU, was present. He congratulated Dr Sandhu on getting the additional charge of Registrar.

Dr Sandhu is currently working as Deputy Director (Corporate Relations) in the IKGPTU. The heads of various departments and staff members of the university congratulated Dr Sandhu on his new innings as Registrar. There were several officials, who were senior to Dr Sandhu and were in race for the plum post. Among them were Amanpreet Singh, Paramjit Singh, SS Walia and others. VC Mittal had already appointed Nitya Sharma on the post but had to roll back the orders within few hours.
