Drivers die in trucks’ head-on collision

The drivers of two canters died in a head-on collision between the vehicles near village Bahowal on the Chandigarh-Hoshiarpur road today. According to information, Harjeet Singh (45), a resident of Ludhiana, was driving a canter from Hoshiarpur to Chandigarh.

When he reached the bridge of village Bahowal, he collided with a canter coming from the opposite direction, which was being driven by Barinder Pal, resident of UP.

The collision was so severe that both drivers died on the spot and the bodies of both could be taken out only after cutting the vehicles.

Due to the collision on the bridge, the Chandigarh-Hoshiarpur main road was completely blocked. The Chabbewal police took both the vehicles into custody and started investigating the causes of the accident.
