The Shahkot police have arrested a proclaimed offender (PO) absconding for the last many years. The accused has been identified as Sukhwindar Singh, alias Sukha, of Lattianwal village in Kapurthala, wanted in a case of drug peddling. The Nurmahal police arrested PO Jagdeep Singh, a resident of Rame Wal village, wanted in a case under the Excise Act.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
