The SC/BC Employees Welfare Federation, Kapurthala, organised a function at the Workers’ Club, RCF Kapurthala, where thirteen teachers from the district were honoured with the Dr Ambedkar Best Teachers Award.

The event, held under the leadership of Federation District President Satwant Singh Toora and office-bearers Manjeet Gaat, Santokh Singh Mallhi, Lakhveer Chand, Balwinder Masih and others, was dedicated to Bharat Ratna Dr BR Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution and renowned social reformer.

District Deputy Education Officer (Elementary Education) Dr Balwinder Singh Battu attended as the chief guest and praised the awardees for their unwavering commitment to education and their role in inspiring students.

The honoured teachers included Kulwinder Kumar, Lecturer in Physical Education at Mandhali, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar; Satish Kumar, Headmaster of Sahas Khalwara, Phagwara; Pardeep Singh, Punjabi Master at Jagpalpur; Fazil-ur-Rehman, English Master at School of Eminence, Phagwara; Rupinder Kaur, Head Teacher of Plahi Gate, Phagwara; Praveen Kumar, Lecturer in History at Lakhaneke Padda Bhullath; Davinder Kaur, ETT Teacher at Karahal Kalan, Kapurthala; Kulwinder Kaur, Head Teacher at Talwandi Bhai; Harjinder Singh, ETT Teacher at Khanowal; Resham Singh Rampuri, CHT at Rajapur; Surat Singh, Hindi Master at Muhabbalipur, Sultanpur Lodhi; and Resham Lal, Head Teacher at Ramgarh Bhullath, among several others recognised for their dedication.

Speaking on the occasion, Federation President Satwant Singh Toora congratulated the awardees, stating that teachers have the power to guide children from ignorance to knowledge and shape them into responsible citizens.

He added that the recognition would boost the morale of the awardees and inspire other teachers to intensify their efforts both inside classrooms and in society.

Federation leaders also announced that this initiative to honour exemplary teachers would continue in the coming years. The event was attended by many principals, lecturers and educationists, who applauded the honourees for their service and dedication to the teaching profession.
