Kapurthala: DC Deepti Uppal has asked the Commissioners of the Municipal Corporations of Kapurthala and Phagwara and the Executive Officers of the municipal councils across the district to ensure 100 per cent enforcement regarding the ban on use of plastics. During a meeting of the district environment committee here on Wednesday, the DC said the door-to-door garbage collection scheme should be implemented for all houses to make cities clean. Taking the use of plastic seriously despite the ban, the DC said challans should be issued against the violators. The DC said piles of garbage lying on the non-designated places should be removed and shifted to a suitable place within a month. TNS
