Exciting clashes mark Day 4 of hockey league

Four league matches were played on the fourth day of the second phase of the Punjab Hockey League, being organised by Round Glass Sports and Hockey Punjab at the Olympian Surjit Singh Hockey Stadium, Jalandhar.

In the first match, Surjit Academy, Jalandhar, defeated SDAT Academy, Tamil Nadu, with a score of 2-0. Charanjit Singh and Ajaypal Singh scored for the winning team. Charanjit Singh of Surjit Academy was adjudged the best player of the match.

In the second match, SGP Academy, Amritsar, outplayed Namdhari Academy with a convincing 4-0 win. Goals were scored by Kamaljit Singh, Jarmanpreet Singh, Harvinder Singh and Diljit Singh. SGP Academy’s captain, Diljit Singh, was declared the best player of the match.

In the third match, SAI, Sonepat, defeated RoundGlass Academy in a high-scoring encounter, 6-4. For SAI, Sonepat, Navraj Singh and Sunil each scored two goals, while Bharat Kaushik and Pankaj Sharma scored one goal each. For Round Glass Academy, Gurvinder Singh scored a hat-trick (three goals), and Amandeep contributed one goal. Bharat Kaushik of SAI Sonepat was named the best player of the match.

In the fourth match, Naval Tata Academy, Jamshedpur, registered a 4-0 victory over Gumhera Academy. Ashish Tani Purti scored two goals, while Prem Chand Soy and Tintus Hamrom scored one goal each. Ashish Tani Purti was declared the best player of the match.
