A family in Rampur Sunnra near Phagwara has alleged that the local police have suppressed a case involving the alleged sexual assault of a six-year-old child by a 15-year-old.

According to the family, rather than registering a formal case, Satnampura police reportedly closed the matter.

Resham Kaur, mother of the victim, told media here on Monday that her child was allegedly taken to a local gym by the older boy and assaulted. She added that the family intends to surround the SP office if no action is taken and has demanded the suspension of the officer who allegedly enforced the closure.
