Farmers’ leader dies in road accident in Phagwara

In a tragic incident, prominent and outspoken farmer leader Jathedar Kashmir Singh Jandiala, associated with the Bharti Kisan Union (Rajewal), lost his life in a road accident last evening.

According to available information, the accident occurred while Jandiala was traveling on his motorcycle from his tubewell. A head-on collision with another motorcycle left him severely injured.

He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Jathedar Kashmir Singh was widely respected for his fearless leadership and vocal stance on farmers’ rights. His sudden demise has sent shockwaves through the farming community and it is being mourned as a significant loss to the ongoing farmers’ movement in Punjab. The police have registered a case in this regard, and an investigation is underway.
