The Bharti Kisan Union-Rajewal (BKU-R) staged a dharna in front of the office of Dr Ravjot, Cabinet Minister, on Saturday.

Addressing protesters, Baba Talwinder Singh, senior vice-president, and Dhadi Ranjit Singh, vice-president, BKU (R) said this dharna was against the negligence being shown by the government towards the purchase of paddy.

They also raised slogans against the government. Later, a memorandum was also handed over to the minister.

Meanwhile, Doaba Kisan Committee, Punjab, under the leadership of secretary Satpal Singh Mirzapur, and Bullowal circle president Balwinder Singh Bains gave a ‘warning letter’ to the minister over non-purchase of paddy and demands of arhtiyas and sheller owners.
