On seeing the driver fleeing in his car, the police blocked the road at Chaudhary Gyan Singh Chowk in Talwara. Once again, the police signalled the driver to stop the car. But, the driver swiftly turned the car towards Hajipur and the police started chasing the vehicle. While fleeing, the driver lost control over the car and it crashed into a roadside tree near Bhode Da Khuh on the Talwara-Hajipur road. After the crash, the driver fled while leaving the car on the spot.

When the police searched the car, 3,15,000 ml (315 litre) of alcohol was recovered from the vehicle. The police registered a case against an unidentified car driver under the Excise Act in this connection and started further investigation into the matter.
