Four arrested for bid to loot ATM

The police have arrested four suspects while they were attempting to loot an automated teller machine (ATM) of Canara Bank on the Goraya-Manzaki road, while their fifth accomplice managed to escape from the spot.
The arrested suspects were identified as Lovepreet, a resident of Malluwarra, and Manpreet, Mangal and Baljinder, all residents of Tarn Taran. The fifth suspect, who escaped from the spot, was identified as Jagat Narain, a resident of Amritsar.
Investigating officer (IO) Sandeep Sharma said the police impounded one Innova vehicle in which the suspects travelled to the ATM. He said one gas cutter, one oxygen and one gas cylinder were also recovered from the suspects. A case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita was registered against the suspects, he added.
