A full-dress rehearsal for the state-level Independence Day event to be held on August 15 here, was conducted today here at Guru Gobind Singh Stadium Jalandhar.

During the rehearsal, Deputy Commissioner Dr Himanshu Aggarwal took the salute at the march past led by Parade Commander IPS Officer Vaibhav Chaudhary. The parade included contingents from the RAF, CRPF, ITBP, Jalandhar Police Commissionerate, RTC PAP, IRBN, Punjab Home Guard, NCC (boys and girls), Government Girls Senior Secondary School Nehru Garden, Lyallpur Khalsa Senior Secondary School (Boys), DSSSD School, Lyallpur Khalsa Kanya High School, Government Girls Senior Secondary School Adarsh Nagar, and the Brass Band of the PAP, Jalandhar.

Following the parade, various departments presented tableaux depicting development and public welfare schemes. After the PT show by students from different schools, cultural performances imbued with patriotism were presented by students from HMV College Jalandhar, Red Cross School for Deaf and Dumb, St Soldier Divine Public School, S D Phoolrwan Government Girls Senior Secondary School, and Police DAV Public School. Additionally, gatka, tent-pegging, and a performance by the PAP Band were also showcased during the rehearsal.

After reviewing the rehearsal, the Deputy Commissioner gave necessary instructions.

Dr Aggarwal informed that during the state-level event on August 15, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will hoist the national flag. He mentioned that comprehensive arrangements have been made by the civil and police administration to ensure the event is conducted smoothly.

He emphasised that every effort will be made to celebrate this auspicious day with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm.
