Hoshiarpur, August 6

Three persons, including a woman and her daughter, died in separate road accidents today.

Puran Chand of Dhameta village in Kangra district told the police that his wife had gone to a fair in Changarwan village in Talwara with her children and other villagers. While returning, his wife and children got down from the trolley near Mansar and started crossing the road on foot when a car passing by hit them.

He said his wife and daughter Garima, who were injured in the accident, were admitted to a hospital in Mukerian where they succumbed to injuries. A case against the unidentified car driver has been registered. The last rites of the mother and daughter were performed together.

In another incident, Kandhe told the police that his son Mohan lived with his family in a hut in Jaitpur. Around 10 pm, his son was crossing the road when a vehicle passing by hit him resulting in his death.— OC
