Governor visits Science City, Rail Coach Factory

Governor Gulab Chand Kataria along with his wife Anita Kataria today visited Pushpa Gujral Science City and Rail Coach Factory in Kapurthala.

On his arrival in Kapurthala, DC Amit Kumar Panchal and SSP Gaurav Toora welcomed the Governor. During the visit to the Science City, the Governor has watched the Eco-Show, 3D Show and Life Through Ages show. Hailing the role played by the Science City in promoting scientific thinking in society, the Governor has emphasised the need for establishment of more such institutions.

He said over the past 20 years, this institution has unveiled the mysteries of the earth, universe and other natural phenomena and has opened the path for mankind to understand nature in greater depth. The Governor advocated to ensure more student visits to the Science City, stating that through this, students could gain insights into India’s ambitious space projects like Chandrayaan and Gaganyaan.

Science City Director General Munish Kumar, briefed the Governor about the facilities and activities.

Earlier, during the visit to the Rail Coach Factory, the Governor reviewed the manufacturing process of coaches at Shell Division. While interacting with engineers and workers in the sheet metal shop, he praised the role of the Rail Coach Factory in contributing to the nation’s development. Earlier, while reaching the Rest House at RCF, the Governor was given a Guard of Honour by a contingent of the Punjab Police.

General Manager of the Rail Coach Factory SS Mishra briefed the Governor about the production of rail coaches and the supply of coaches to other countries.

ADC ( Development) Varinderpal singh Bajwa , ADC (G) Navneet Kaur Ball, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Anupam Kler, SP Sarabjit Rai, SP Gurpreet Singh, SDM Major Irwin Kaur and Assistant Commissioner Kapil Jindal were also present.
