Speaking at the 30th Annual Baba Shaheedan Sports and Cultural Fair at village Sanghe Khalsa near Nurmahal in Jalandhar, ETO emphasized that such events were crucial in preserving Punjab's rich cultural heritage.
He highlighted the government's initiatives, particularly the "Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan" programme, which provided a platform for athletes to showcase their talent and excel in their respective sports.
ETO also stressed the importance of sports in maintaining physical and mental fitness as well as instilling values like teamwork and discipline.
He encouraged the youth to participate in at least one sport and praised the development of Sanghe Khalsa, assuring that the state government was committed to providing village-level facilities comparable to urban areas.
The minister lauded MLA Inderjit Kaur Mann for her active role in village development and honoured the winning athletes.
