Dr Sonal, Consultant Pulmonology, highlighted that pneumonia remains a leading cause of respiratory hospitalisations, particularly during winter. “Persistent cough, high fever, or breathlessness should never be ignored,” she said, stressing that early detection and proper management can prevent complications. She added that pneumonia poses the greatest risk to young children, the elderly and those with chronic illnesses.
