Maahin Sethi secured 99.9% in JEE Main exam.

Gurnoor, son of Jatinder Singh, a government school teacher and Dr Sukhbir Kaur, a Health Department official, has been passionate about engineering since his early years in school. “He always had a logical mindset and a curiosity about how things work,” his mother said. “We are very proud of him and with everyone’s blessings, we are hopeful that he will do well in the JEE Advanced too.”

Meanwhile, Gurnoor said he maintained a steady routine of eight to nine hours of study daily and credited his success to a stress-free environment provided by his family. “My parents always encouraged me to do what I enjoy. They never pressured me for grades but emphasised on real learning,” he said.

He added that his elder sister, currently pursuing aerospace engineering, played a crucial role in motivating him throughout his preparation journey. He is now focusing on the JEE Advanced exam, scheduled for next month and said he would finalise his engineering branch based on those results.

Securing the second position in the district is Maahin Sethi from St Soldier Group of Institutions, who scored a 99.9 percentile and achieved AIR 1422. Maahin is the son of engineering professors, Dr Gaurav Sethi of Lovely Professional University and his wife, who teaches at DAVIET. Inspired by his parents, Maahin aims to pursue electronics and communication engineering. “Consistency was my key,” he said, noting that he devoted nearly 10 hours daily to self-study in addition to regular classes.
