Harbhajan Singh Memorial Football Tournament begins
The 62nd All India Principal Harbhajan Singh Memorial Football Tournament commenced today at the Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College playground, Mahilpur. Dr Ishank Kumar, MLA from the Chabbewal constituency, was the chief guest.
In the first match of the Academy category (U18), Football Academy Mahilpur triumphed over Himachal Football Academy with a 4-0 scoreline.
The second match in the college category saw Football Academy Paldi and Sant Baba Bhag Singh University, Khiala draw 1-1 after regular time. In the penalty shootout, Sant Baba Bhag Singh University triumphed 6-5.
In the final match of the day, RCF Kapurthala edged Namdhari Football Club 2-1 in the Club category.
