All unions and associations of BSNL (AUAB) will be organising Black badge-wearing demonstrations on Thursday July 28 all over India. The demonstration will be held to protest the decision of the Union Government to hand over 14,917 BSNL mobile towers to the private players under the National Monetisation Pipeline.
Jagtar Singh, the joint secretary of North Central Headquarters of SNEA (Sanchar Nigam Executive’s Association), said all major unions and associations functioning in BSNL had given a call for organising badge-wearing demonstrations during lunch hour on July 28. The programme is being organised apposing the decision of the government to hand over 14,917 of BSNL’s mobile towers to private hands, demanding the immediate launching of BSNL’s 4G service countrywide and stopping the NMP.
He said in the 2021-22 Budget, the government had categorically stated it would garner Rs 40,000 crore, by way of handing over the mobile towers and OFC (optical fibre cable) of BSNL and MTNL to the private players. “The decision of the government would certainly deliver a death blow to BSNL,” he added.
