Karate coach Sensei Jagmohan Vij of Hoshiarpur has been appointed as a member of the National Referee Commission of Karate India Organisation (KIO) which is a national governing body of Karate sport in India.

According to Shihan Rangila Ram Dhatwalia, Deputy Commandant (Retd) Indo-Tibet Border Police, Technical Director, Okinawa Gojuryu Karate Federation of India, this is the best achievement achieved at the national level by any karate coach or referee from Punjab. Jagmohan Vij is the first and only referee not only from Punjab but also from neighbouring states and UTs to be included in National Referee Commission of Karate India.

Advocate Deepak Sharma, Hoshiarpur karate association working president, said Sensei Jagmohan Vij is the first referee to be inducted into the Referee Commission of the National Karate Federation in the nearly 40-year history of karate in Punjab.
