Hoshiarpur: The district administration through 25 Sewa Kendras have delivered more than 23,000 services till Saturday evening since May 1. All Sewa Kendras in the district, including one in the District Administrative Complex, are working zealously to facilitate and provide services without any glitch amid Covid crisis. These citizen services mainly pertaining to some key departments viz, social security, agriculture, health, home affairs, local governments, rural development, revenue, labour, transport, sanjh kendra and services related to Aadhaar card. The major services, which had been provided in this tough time, are affidavits, certificate of residence, birth, old-age pensions and Aadhaar card updation. Buoyed over the smooth functioning of Sewa Kendras across the district, Deputy Commissioner Apneet Riyait said there was 0.05 per cent pendency of applications in Sewa Kendras as total 2,30,374 applications had been received of which 2,21,209 were approved, while 2,938 were under process besides 5,524 rejected due to incomplete forms and information. Out of these applications received in last one year, 473 were under objections, informed Riyait, adding that the applications were being processed on fast track with a task to ensure delivery of services well before the stipulated time frame in compliance with the Transparency Act-2018. The district administration has also started the courier service to deliver the services at the doorsteps of applicants. She informed that under this initiative, nearly 6,000 documents had already been dispatched to homes of the applicants during last three months. As per the decision of state government, appointment system has also been rolled out, which received a overwhelming response especially amid Covid-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, the District Governance Coordinator Ranjit Singh stated that all Covid safety measures were being ensured in Sewa Kendras besides helping general public with tents outside Sewa Kendras, where needed. He reiterated that the district administration was delivering citizen services to people without any delay in a transparent manner. In case of any grievance, citizen can call on 1905 state helpline number for registering any complaint with respect to service delivery, he added. OC
