The Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) celebrated its 51st foundation day by organising a blood donation camp, free medical check-up and tree plantations.

The event was organised by the regional retail team and dealers of the company in association with NGO Alfa Mahendru Foundation and Punjab State Blood Transfusion Council. Sunil Kumar, Field Officer, CM Punjab, was the chief guest.

The officers of the corporation and dealers donated blood at the camp. Banay Singh, Chief Regional Manager, HPCL, said that blood donation was the biggest donation in any form. Ramesh Mahendru from the NGO said that in one year, a donor could donate blood three times.

At Suchi Pind oil depot, a health check-up camp was organised in association with the Hero Heart Hospital, Ludhiana. Dr Ankit and Dr Pranjal even distributed free medicines to some needy patients.

Tree plantation was held at Guru Nanak Ashram for the aged and orphaned in Phagwara. The HPCL donated ration at the ashram for 80 inmates. A cake cutting ceremony was also held at the ashram.
