Goel began his visit by checking facilities provided to children at the Government Primary School and Anganwadi Centre in Kadupur village. He checked how children were being taught and the quality of mid-day meals served to them. He also interacted with staff members to understand challenges they faced.
Goel also examined the public distribution system (PDS) at Wadala Bet village. He spoke directly with beneficiaries to hear their experiences and problems in receiving ration supplies. He instructed officials to ensure that every eligible person must receive their full entitlement under the PDS without any delays.
Later in the day, he visited Sukhjit Ashram in Kapurthala city, a shelter home for children. There, he reviewed the care being provided to children and emphasised on the importance of paying special attention to their education, health and overall well-being.
Before starting field visit, Goel was formally welcomed by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Navneet Kaur Bal, who gave him an overview of the district’s ongoing welfare initiatives.
