The body was discovered around 4 pm on Friday, after a passerby noticed a sack emitting a strong foul odour near a garbage heap on a vacant plot on Wadala Road in Kanshi Nagar. The police were immediately alerted and reached the spot along with senior officials.

When officials, including ACP (West) Sarwanjit Singh and SHO Hardev Singh opened the sack, they found body of a man estimated to be between 30 and 35 years old. He was wearing a pink T-shirt and brown lower. A tattoo reading “Mom-Dad” was found on his left arm, while a bracelet was still intact on his other wrist.

Due to the advanced state of decomposition, the police suspect the murder took place more than 36 hours before the body was found. Interestingly, no visible injuries were observed on the body, adding to the mystery surrounding the cause of death.

Police officials said the exact cause and time of death would only be confirmed after the arrival of the post-mortem examination report. “We are waiting for the medical report to understand how the murder was committed. Meanwhile, the process for the identification of the victim is our top priority,” they said.

The police have appealed to the public share any information that may help in identifying the man. The police said, “Anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the Kanshi Nagar area or recognises description of the deceased is urged to come forward.”

The case has sparked outrage among residents, as the manner in which the body was dumped points to a well-planned murder.
