The faculty of IK Gujral Punjab Technical University is on a warpath over their demand for the implementation of the revised pay scales and promotions.

The teachers from the main campus of the university sat on one-hour dharna outside the campus gates. They met Dr S K Mishra, Registrar, and secretary of Board of Governors (BoG), IKGPTU.

Prof Vikas Chawla, Prof Hitesh Sharma, Prof YS Brar, Prof Satvir Singh, president of teaching association Dr Dinesh Gupta, general secretary of teaching association Dr Barinderjit Singh along with other teachers submitted an agenda for the next BoG meeting regarding the implementation of the revised pay scales and promotion of teachers to the Registrar. The agenda highlighted how the pay scales were implemented in discriminatory manner despite the orders of the BoG. Mishra assured the teachers that he would take their agenda to the BoG members.
