Two killed in road accidents

Hoshiarpur: Two people died in separate road accidents in the district. Mianni of Mohalla Dashmesh Nagar informed the Model Town police station that she was riding an Activa with her mother, Harmesh Kaur. She stated that as they approached a marriage palace on the Haryana road, a passing vehicle hit their scooter. Mianni said her mother was seriously injured in the accident. The victim was rushed to a government hospital where she died. The police registered a case against the accused driver, Joginder Singh, a resident of Gobindpur Khun village.

Hit by vehicle, man dies

Hoshiarpur: A resident of Kahiwal village, Ram Saga, told the Dasuha police that his uncle, Nirmal Kumar, was hit by a vehicle near Usman Shaheed, resulting in his death on the spot, while leaving his companion, Shahnawaz injured. After registering a case, the police initiated further probe into the incident.

Two held with banned pills

Hoshiarpur: Acting on a tip-off, the Model Town police arrested two persons, including a woman, and recovered large quantity of banned pills from them. The accused were identified as Chandra Mohan, alias Deep, a resident of Tulsi Nagar, and Sunaina, a resident of Sundar Nagar.

One held with 82 gm heroin

Hoshiarpur: The Sadar police during patrolling in their area arrested Chetan Bali, a resident of Shankar Nagar, and recovered 82 grams of heroin from him.
