Hoshiarpur: A bike-borne miscreant snatched two-tola gold chain from a woman. The police have started probe into the matter after registering a case in this connection. According to information, Soniya, a resident Nandan, told the police that she had come to Hoshiarpur from her village with her daughter. When she reached near Shimla Hill, a bike-borne youth snatched her chain, which she was wearing around her neck.

Woman, son booked for fraud

Hoshiarpur: The Tanda police have registered a case against a woman and her son for allegedly cheating a person of 12.50 lakh on the pretext of sending him abroad. In his complaint, Damandeep Singh stated to the police that Jasveer Kaur, a resident of Bullowal, along with her son Gurveer Singh, had allegedly cheated him of his money on the promise of sending him abroad. After investigating into the matter, the police registered a case against the accused and initiated further action them.
