Phagwara: The police have booked two persons, including a woman, on charges of stealing cash and jewellery from her own house. The accused Ramandeep Kaur and Amrit Pal hail form Uggi village. Kulwindar Kaur told the police that she had fixed her daughter Ramandeep's marriage with Manpreet for November 23. Her daughter went to Nakodar on November 8 to meet a beautician, but she didn't return. Kulwindar said when she checked her almirah, she found Rs 1.2 lakh and jewellery missing, adding that Ramandeep and Amrit Pal stole cash and jewellery. A case has been registered.

Scooterist killed in accident

Phagwara: A scooterist was killed on the spot when the vehicle (PB-09AD-4579) was hit by a speeding Canter from the rear in the city on Saturday night.The deceased was identified as Tushar Singh of Staff Colony, Phagwara. The police have registered a case against the Canter driver, who managed to escape, leaving the vehicler behind. The police have handed over the body to family members after the post-mortem.

Scooter STOLEN from fish market

Phagwara: A scooter (PB-36 L-1063) was found stolen from near a medical shop in Fish Market, Phagwara, on Saturday night. Scooter owner Gopi of the Satnampura locality told the police that he went to purchase fish after parking his Activa, but found his scooter stolen when he came back.The police have registered a case.
