Airline company IndiGo on Saturday announced its direct flight services between Adampur and Mumbai from July 2. The company has already started online booking for the flight with introductory base price of the ticket kept for Adampur-Mumbai flight at Rs 5660 and return journey for Rs 5571. The company has also released the time schedule of the flight.

The flight will take off from Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport at 12:55 pm and reach Adampur at 3:15 pm. After a 35 minute halt at Adampur, it will take off from here at 3:50 pm and reach Mumbai at 6:30 pm. The flight duration will be 2:20 hours for Mumbai-Adampur sector and 2:40 hours for Adampur-Mumbai sector. The news has brought in excitement, especially businessmen, from Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr and Kapurthala. The flight can also benefit commuters from Himachal districts along Punjab border.

Adampur will be Indigo's 92nd domestic and 133rd overall destination, IndiGo said. The company has appointed staff for ground handling and administrative purposes. The company has not so far clarified on the flight carrier to be used for the new route. Star Air has already been running flights on Adampur-Hindon-Nanded-Bengaluru sector from Adampur for a year.
