The accident took place near a farm in Kartarpur. The deceased along with their three friends Shubham, Amrik Kohli and Rudra Mahajan were heading back to Amritsar when a truck driver, in front of them, suddenly applied brakes, causing a collision with the car coming behind it.

The crash caused the iron rods loaded on the back of the truck to break loose and smash through the windshield of the car. The rods pierced through the torsos of the two young men seated in the front, leading to their instant death.

The three friends sitting behind have also sustained serious injuries. The group of friends had come to Jalandhar to attend a religious event at Shakti Nagar.
