The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) organised a public meeting in Phagwara to thank voters for electing BSP candidate Amandeep Kaur as municipal councillor. The event, held in Sham Nagar and Kaulsar localities, saw the participation of BSP Punjab President and former MP Avtar Singh Karimpuri as the chief guest.

Karimpuri extended his gratitude to voters and party supporters for backing the BSP candidate. He assured that all development promises made by the councillor during the campaign would be fulfilled with transparency and inclusivity.

Speaking on the ongoing protest movement launched by BSP Punjab on March 15 against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, Karimpuri said the agitation has now transformed into a people’s movement. “The issues raised by BSP, such as the drug menace, lapses in the education policy, unchecked activities of mafias, rising crime and deteriorating law and order, directly affect the common people,” he stated.

He further criticised the AAP government, accusing it of failing to deliver on its electoral guarantees and fostering public resentment due to unfulfilled promises.

Councillor Amandeep Kaur thanked senior party leaders, dignitaries, and local residents for their support and trust. She pledged that the development of the ward would be carried out in a fair, unbiased, and transparent manner.
