Kunal Sharma, a city-based philanthropist and managing director of Spartan Sports, was recently felicitated by the Indian Federation of United Nations Associations (IFUNA) for his outstanding contributions to sports and youth empowerment. The recognition was presented by Dr Harcharan Singh Ranauta, vice-president of IFUNA, during a ceremony held in Jalandhar.

Sharma was acknowledged for his transformative efforts, particularly in rural Punjab, where he has provided underprivileged children with access to resources such as free cricket kits, fostering their talent and inspiring hope.

In a statement, IFUNA highlighted Sharma’s dedication to empowering young people through sports and education. “His initiatives reflect his commitment to creating opportunities and enabling youth to pursue their dreams,” the organisation said.

Sharma’s impact extends beyond India, as he has played a pivotal role in strengthening economic ties between India and Australia while contributing to both countries’ growth. Recently, his philanthropic endeavours have expanded to the UAE and the UK, where he has launched new projects in collaboration with prominent sports personalities and celebrities.

Speaking on the occasion, Sharma said, “Through scholarships, grants and community programmes, I am striving to empower youngsters, with a special focus on how sports can improve health, mindset and social well-being. My vision is to bridge gaps and promote sports as a transformative tool for societal change.”
