As per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, the monthly inspection of the EVM warehouse maintained at the district level was conducted on Friday by the Joint Chief Electoral Officer Punjab, Sakattar Singh Bal.

This inspection took place in the presence of Additional District Election Officer Amarbir Kaur Bhullar, with representatives from various political parties also in attendance.

The inspection process involved a thorough examination of the warehouse, where the condition of the EVM and VVPAT machines, security arrangements, sealing procedures and CCTV surveillance systems were closely assessed. In addition, all relevant records, logbooks, and entry registers were scrutinised to ensure transparency in the election process.

Sakkar Singh Bal, Joint Chief Electoral Officer, stated that the monthly inspection of the EVM Warehouse is a regular and essential procedure carried out periodically in every district. Its purpose is to uphold the fairness, security and transparency of the election process. Bal expressed satisfaction with the high standards maintained in the EVM Warehouse system in Hoshiarpur district.

During a meeting with political party representatives, Sakkar Singh Bal urged them to appoint Booth Level Agents (BLA) to further ensure the integrity of the upcoming elections.
